August 11, 2021 Important Message (venue guide)
Hi Folks!
Since this venue for the HKC Labour Day week end shows and trials will be new to many of you, over the next week Yan and I will be explaining the layout to give a comfort level. For the benefit of the Performance exhibitors, we would like to assure you that the area for the trials is totally fenced. It is the Agility area at the top of the property. You will be able to drive to this separate area, will have the use of a 20 x 40 tent just outside the trial area and you will be parked next to the Obedience and Rally ring. It is a great venue - safe and secure for exhibitors and dogs alike.
Obedience Saturday morning followed by Rally. Sunday morning Rally followed by Obedience.

August 10, 2021 Important Update and Message
Hello Ladies and Gentlemen
The HKC shows are only a month away and the Show Committee is working hard with Yan Mowatt to put together a great, safe week end of shows and trials. There will be information provided in the judging schedule with respect to Covid protocols in effect at the time the schedule is released and there will also be a Covid waiver that will accompany the schedule. Not only do we want everyone safe, we want you to feel certain that those with whom you will come in contact are supportive of our safe environment.
Many of you have heard that Doug Windsor and Wendy Schira are unable to be with us as a result of a health issue that is being resolved. We all are relieved to know Doug is on the mend in one of Canada's finest health care facilities. To that end, we have contracted with Margaret Jones to fulfill Doug's assignment and Barbara Heal to fulfill Wendy's assignment. These changes have been communicated to the CKC, EntryLine and Canuckdogs. Since the change is occurring before the closing of entries, it is important that, should you wish to withdraw, you do so before entries close. No refunds will be given once entries close. We look forward to having Doug and Wendy with us next year so save the date.
As mentioned earlier, Yan will be positioning exhibitors, both for RV as well as pop up (or equivalent) areas. If you intend to put up a structure (pop up or screen tent, etc), please contact Yan to let her know. That way she will be able to make the best lay out possible for all. If you do not do that for any reason, you will be positioned with the other vehicles parked in the vehicle parking area. Yan has asked me to caution that the surface area on the property is hard - very hard. Please keep that in mind and bring appropriate (example hammer, strong pegs) equipment to get anything needed to go in the ground actually in. Your hands and feet might not be quite suitable.
For those from outside NS who wonder about our protocols in NS, the NS government has us currently in Stage 4 of our re-opening strategy. This is well laid out on the NS website novascotia.ca/coronavirus/restrictions-and-guidance If you like lots of detailed information straight from the regulators, that is the place to keep up to date. We will, of course, advise of changes, updates that occur both here and in the judging schedule. Please be prepared to wear a mask in the rings, regardless of the stage of re-opening.
Yan is working hard to make this a great show week end and is hoping to update with some offerings that she is working on.
This is not a show and go. With multiple shows a day, many exhibitors will necessarily be with us for several hours. Bring what you need to be comfortable in the outside conditions. Simply remember that we are Covid-aware and distancing is still recommended.
We are very much looking forward to seeing everyone soon!
